  1. You need more strength in your legs, and good balance.

    Try short sprints, and bench step-ups with weights.

    Exercycle short sprints of 15-30 seconds at  very high resistance will work your legs, too.

    Work on the thigh lifting muscles, that is where you break tackles from. Crunches with weights on your torso.


  2. Yeah, don't worry about speed.  YOu'll be blocking most of the series, anyway.  And you're NOT supposed to be fast.  Just catch the ball under and rumble for a few yards.
