I am an U.S. Citizen, my fianciee is in China. What steps and where do I need to go to apply for "Certification of marriageability". I want to get marry in China with my fianciee.

  1. This is often a requirement of foreign governments and not a document that the U.S. Government hands out. What you can do is go  to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing during American Citizen Services hours. They will ask you to sign a sworn statement stating that you are free to marry. You will pay a notarization fee and the Chinese government will accept this as the Certificate of Marriageability. You can find complete instructions here:
