  1. Sure you can, although Mexican immigration is a lot more strict than US immigration, so gaining citizenship in Mexico will no doubt prove challenging.

Legally however, nothing will prevent you from doing that. You can keep your US citizenship.

  2. Yeah....

    Good Luck...

  3. Not as far as America is concerned.  The United States does not recognize dual citizenship.

As for Mexico...if you have a natural right to citizenship there they may let you become a citizen and keep your US citizenship.  If you are not connected though most countries will only let you become a citizen if you renounce your citizenship to your old country.  Seeing as Mexico has some of the toughest Immigration laws in the world that will probably be the case with them.

Angelita-  I did NOT say that dual citizenship is not allowed.  I said that the US does not recognize it.  There is a difference.  The US sees you as a US citizen and ONLY a US citizen.  Your other citizenship has no bearing here in the United States.  Why is this concept so hard for people to understand?

  4. No. Mexico does not recognize dual citizenship. The US on the other hand does. So you can have US citizenship and Mexican nationality but not dual citizenship.

  5. Sure u can! Many peoples leave Canada & work in the USA & have dual citizenship,so,Y wouldn't it work the same for you? Many peoples have dual citizenship,my Q would be on taxes, would u have to pay 2?If not , which country would you pay?GODBLESS U & Yours & have a great summer eh!
