The thought of marrying an American heiress scares me to death. Would you do it to please your family?

Speaking as an educated, middle-class American, if I ever inherit a windfall, don't bother to call if you hold that stereotypical attitude toward American women.

Seriously, most men and women looking for love in all the right places are happiest choicing marriage partners from a similar socio-economic background and education, a fact which perhaps limits their choices.  Most limit themselves by their profession,  leisure activities, education, set of moral values, and pocketbook whatever their social class.  In other words, a different sort of girl frequents the reading room of the British Museum from the girl that club hops every night.

I will not marry an aristocrat just to please my family, because at the end of the wedding it is me who will have to live with that person i married because of her money or family wealth.

If your idea of spending your ever after is in a loveless marriage go on and marry another money loaded aristoctatic family like yours but if you want to be happy you may go for a partner who you love.  And be prepared to be disowned by your family which may be stressfull and a major thing if you are from a close family not forgetting that, they may disinherite you to.
