  1. i m also an Indian and if u want to learn American accent so the bast way is to watch Hollywood movies and try to speak words like they do that is the best way to learn bcz u don't have any one from US to talk or teach u

and now a day if u speak words clearly and ur English speaking speed is good and understandable then the accent part is not that important Bcz India have Company's from all around the world and each country have there own style to speak English

    so don't worry

  2. I think the English (British) accent is beautiful and most Americans like it too, so you might want to rethink getting rid of it.  I don't know your motives for wanting an American accent, but unless you have a practical reason, I wouldn't bother if I were you.

  3. You will not forget you own english accent.  It will always be your natural accent.  It will be easy to use that accent when going about your daily life.

You can learn to speak in a more american way for work.

Americans will understand you better if you slow your speech a little.

  4. well...since this is under Special Education, what does it say in your IEP?
