Yes, you can apply directly through a university or you can do a search on google for it.

Most likely you should become a registered nurse first because we are in short supply of them.  Then you can work part time as a nurse and continue your medical studies until you are a doctor.  We are in short supply of RNs so in order to keep your visa status you will need to show you are contributing to a needed sector in our country.

Both Americans and British are adjusting to the idea of being friends with the Iraqis.  There is an Iraqi man who plays a hero in one of the popular American TV shows, LOST, his name is Sayeed.  So we are slowly making the adjustment.  Sorry for any negative remarks you may experience, it is not that we hate Iraqi people, we just hate Saddam and Terrorist.  If you are really bothered by it, you can always tell people you are from India.  Most Americans could never tell the difference.
