Should I admit I'm new but I'll try my hardest? Do they think less of me if I'm nervous? I am not a teaching major but am getting an alternative certification. Any help of advice appreciated.

  1. Listen to the Qs attentively.Give a short and satisfying answer.Do tell the inteviewer/s what interests you most in the subject and why as and when it is possible to do so.Remember you have to show you deserve the job

  2. Dress like a grownup.  This means a suit and tie for an interview, and real shoes.  Have neat, error-free resumes.  Shake hands firmly and look the interviewer in the eye.  Read interview questions online or in a practice book ahead of time, so that you have an idea of what they may ask.

SEND A THANK YOU NOTE!  (this means a real, handwritten note, on stationary or a blank card) the day after the interview.

  3. It is not U who applying for a fist time teaching job. Do not afraid when face the interwiewer. Think about your confidence that will break the bounderies of this wicked world. If U will do it with confidence no one will checked U if U lose the confidence any time between the interwiew then U will lose.

so do it with great guts

  4. Be confident, not mousy.  Being nervous is not mousy, it's human.  They need to know you can handle the classroom.  Pedagogy can be taught but presence cannot.  They need to know right away that you can/ will control the room when necessary and do it confidently.  You are making a case for yourself, the way the kids make a case to you.  All year/ semester your students will be making a case for you to pass them.  What would you expect to see from them?  The best advice I offer new teachers is this: Don't act like a teacher.  You are a teacher, so be you.

  5. I think above all they will appreciate your interest and honesty, so say that you don't have much experience but that teaching is a passion of yours and that you have a willingness to learn. They won't think less of you if you are nervous, most people are when they first apply. Just try to be confident and optimistic. Teaching requires good communication, dedication and understanding, so these will be displayed. They need to know that you will be just as comfortable teaching a group as talking to them.

I'm not sure about the details of this alternative certification, however be sure to answer their questions clearly and effectively. Incorporate your attributes and any work experience that you have, into your answers to show that you are right for this job. Be yourself and display confidence, politeness and professionalism.

You need to have something that will set you aside from the other job candidates. They might be higher qualified than you so you need to be prepared. Employers want people that know about the school or company/business. Research them and find out how they run and what they do. You can then tie this information into your interview questions to show the interviewer that you have an understanding of them and what the job entails. They will be most impressed. Good luck :-)

  6. The interviewer knows about your history; they should have a copy of your resume and credentials in front of them before you have showed up.  One of the things I told principals when I interviewed was being young and new in the game was not necessarily a disadvantage, because you have just finished receiving the latest education in your field that there is.  Those who having been teaching for a while are further out of that base, and therefore have to attend workshops and conferences to enhance classroom practice.

Principals can pick up quickly if you smile and act too bubbly.  They can decipher what is a fake answer that is more geared to 'what you think they want to hear' compared to 'what they actually need to hear'.  Try to stay calm, and if you can put a positive spin on being new, young, freshly educated, not tied down, etc.

Also, admitting things like not having a lot of classroom practice isn't a bad thing, you can play up that you enjoy conferences/workshops and being part of a team to get associated with everything is enjoyable for you.

  7. B Bold,Confidence, loud, control ur heartbeat, show leadership in nature, speak truly ie no confusion at all.

These very less words if u keep in mind u will succeed for sure.

    Best of luck!!!
