was in 2006 as it sat in court due to a good lawyer for several years. What date do these companies usually go by in regards to a background check. Also if you pull my driving record its clean with no tickets minus a window tint violation in the last 8 years however it states i had a suspended lic but here is the kicker. The suspended lic was a gov error and it says the suspension started in sept 2006 but the suspension ended in august 2006 which is before the start date. this is what they did when the mistake was found and the fla dmv refuses to remove this from the record. so technically it was never suspended but yet it shows up. i am having a heart attack worrying about this. any help would be greatly appreciated. i have had background checks pulled and dmv records pulled for my last two jobs and i was able to be placed on several million dollars company policies with both but i am scared these new employers will not realize this. im a good guy, can pass the drug tests and have not been in any trouble minus the dui in college and i just want to work now. thanks

  1. Your "good lawyer" did a lousy job.  If you had pleaded guilty when it happened the 2001 date would show on your records.  As it stands, you were found guilty in 2006 and that is what a background check will show.  Sounds like your lawyer was just soaking you for more money as he certainly did nothing to help you.

  2. The dui will register from the date you were convicted.  Before that, it was only an allegation.
