She was wondering if there is a product that cleans unsealed grout like on a bathroom floor? The grout is only about 6 mos. old but it hasn't been sealed yet and it is getting dingy. Thanks!

  1. Try a mr clean sponge. some stores have a genaric band that works just as good.

  2. I would try just plain bleach.  Let it sit on there for a few minutes, then scrub it clean.  After it is clean, then seal it.

  3. go to store like home depot or such and ask for grout cleaner, it works but it take a little scrubbing . white there purchase the sealant it is easy to apply especially on a bathroom , that should do the trick

  4. There is commercial cleaner you can use, but here what I do, make a homemade tile and grout cleaner that is safe for frequent use. It also works well for removing soap scum and cleaning tile counters.

    1/2 cup of baking soda

    1/3 cup of ammonia

    1/4 cup of white vinegar

    7 cups of water

Combine all the ingredients in a bucket & mix well, then transfer into a spray bottle and shake well to mix. Do not use this in conjunction with chlorine bleach or where chlorine bleach has been used. (Never mix ammonia and bleach containing products.) Spray it on and then wipe with a damp sponge or cloth.

To clean mildewed grout in tub and shower enclosures:

Scrub with a solution of one part liquid chlorine bleach to five parts water. Use a bristle brush and re-apply. Let sit for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly with clean water

    Good Luck!.
