  1. No.

JSA is not for people at college. Its for people who are seeking (and able to) work.

If you give up college, you will be able to claim.

  2. no, becaue you have to be availble to work to claim benefits

  3. no but you could get a part time evening job!!!!

  4. Under 18's can claim JSA but only in certain circumstances

You can claim JSA if you are attending college provided it is not a full time course.

As for yourself personally you have not given enough info for me to give you an informed answer. However there is nothing stopping you from asking. I would agree though that the best thing for you to do is to find yourself a part time job.

  5. No one can get both, one is paid because you are looking for work and the other because you are studying full time.

And check the rules for JSA - you might find you would be worse off, or not old enough to claim anyway.

  6. How old are you? Ignoring EMA, if you are under 18 then you cannot claim JSA.

Given that you are over 18 then you might as well try to claim (call 0800 055 6688 ) but you will need to meet all the usual JSA requirements e.g. actively looking for work.

However, perhaps the best way to improve your financial situation is to actually get a part time job.

  7. No. Get your qualifications and *then* get a job, *or* give up college and look for full-time work.

  8. No, you have to be actively seeking and available for work to claim JSA.

  9. no because you are not "seeking" employment currently you are at college.

and come on do you really need it surely £30 a week is enough to survive off seeing as you live at home and probably get washing, cooking, bills etc paid for by parents. (just a guess apologies if i am wrong)

  10. You lazy swine. Get a job then if you're on at college 3 hours a day, instead of scrubbing off the state, which, let's face it, you are!

    No you can't claim JSA.

  11. There is a site, if memory serves it is called 'entitled to' (probably .co.uk) and if you fill in the online form it will tell you just what you are entitled to!

  12. you can't be at college and claim JSA!

What a great attitude to have

  13. yes you can claim jsa if you are 18 because you are under the 16 hour limit if you are under 18 you will have to claim hardship
