  1. ok, your not afrad of God or Satan, but your afraid of your parents?

Are you only Atheist because you dont want to believe what they believe? Or because you know it will get there attention (rather negative or positive) or is it because your just plain afraid and it's easier to not believe in anything then to believe that what you do will effect you more long term then life?

tell them that your Atheist and tell them Why. People are more wiling to understand your stand and possition on things if you can tell then thoughtfully and intelligently why. If you tell them and they ask you why and you say 'cause it's cool. or cause i saw it on tv or Just Because' then i'm sure your fear is well anticipated.

Just tell them, it's your life and your eternal soul.. oops, you dont believe in that.. just tell them

  2. If your parents love you it shouldn't matter

  3. whats atheist?

  4. Who says you have to say anything about it? My mother is a Christian, and my father Catholic. I'd thought about telling them I am an atheist, but I kept my mouth shut. As much as I believe there isn't such power they believe it really does exist. Out of respect, I just walk away when such conversations come up. I know you don't feel like you are doing it, but for some reason people with die hard beliefs find it insulting if you don't agree 100%.

You're learning a part of yourself right now. Embrace that instead of looking for approval of others.

  5. Tell them you are a dyslexic agnostic insomniac.... that you stay up night after night wondering if there is or isn't a Dog....

  6. Afraid,

You are who you want to be. If you feel that you need your parents ok on this, no choose what you want in life. I am not sure how old you are.

    It's ok,

I am sure that no matter what they will love you.

Don't say a word until you are ready

  7. your parents have nothing to fear if you are an atheist.

and you have nothing to fear either.

You should be proud of whatever you choose to be.

oh, and by the way if you need proof of god come with me and I shall give you enough evidence to convince you that prayer works.

    now thats enough for me.

thanks for your honesty, I hope you dont get any shaming feedback from anyone.
