I have been to Cabo and Puerto V, and Playa Riveria, but most of these places are great for singles in their 20's, everyone wants to get laid and really drunk. Times have changed. I still want to have fun but with other single people over 30. Is there a resort for a more mature crowd? Is there a difference between staying in Cabo verses Aculpulco? I am interested in Aculpulco but not sure if there are better places to stay. I also want to avoid kids and honeymooners.

  1. Well being a Acapulco resident I can tel you that it is unlikely to find the "kid's" crowd - except for spring break.

There are plenty of things to do here - including disco's , jia lia, nightclubs and bars. One to suit every person.

Ive been here 2 years now and your timing plays a big part on the type of gringo you'll encounter.

Right now its pretty tame, Hotel occupancy this mornings news reported 56 % - very low compared to winter thru spring break - usually 80% if not more.

Oct - December is Mexicans vacationing. Acapulco has accomidations for all pocketbooks. Dec - Feb is Canadian's and March - April is SPRING BREAK - huge deal here , BIG $$$.

Cruise ships - always about 3 a week of all diferent nationalities.

I love Acapulco for the diverse people that pass thru, the prices and lack of hurricanes.

Need anything else if your deciding Acapulco, just link over to me and ask away.

New Years eve here is unbelivable. The Navy kicks it off by lobbing fireworks OVER the mtns and then the hotels join in for 15 minutes of fireworks reflecting off the water and then the party on the beach and Costera....................

There is always something going on here and you wont be run over by the Americans and Mikey like's it that way !

  2. Go to Chiapas, one of the most ignored destinations in Mexico to the drunk college crowds. There are many eco-turistic activities, canopy, a great river canyon, waterfalls, national parks, Mayan archaeological sites, lakes, picturesque towns (like San Cristobal), and most tourists are educated Europeans.

I'm 31, went there 2 years ago and would love to go there again. Good luck!

  4. Neuvo Laredo go to Boy's Town... you'll never be the same.. donkey show/ hookers/ and a **** load of stuff you'll never see again in your life.

  5. Acapulco is for the masses (specially the Mexico City people), so if you know what I mean go to Los Cabos, either Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo.

I lived there in my 30's and really enjoyed it, specially because as you say is not only teenagers looking for score night after night.
