I am audtioning for the role of joanna in sweeney todd at a community theatre. they asked for ages 17- 21 (i think), but she said if i could sing and look the part i may have a chance. (a lady at the theatre said that) I am 14 years old but i have a very mature voice and am tall. how do i make myself look older without putting on too much make- up, etc? Thank you so much!!!

  1. Try and think of every detail of your character and bring it to life on stage.  If you are playing an old person, try to walk out on stage that way, really be the person you are auditioning for.  Just my 2 cents.

  2. I think you are fine, you shouldn't have to "act" older for a part 3 years older than your current age.  If you put on too much makeup it will look freakish.  A large part of Johanna's role is her innocence.

    Good luck!
