I am babysitting a kindergartener.?

Question

hes going into 1st grade.

and he wants to play games but he wont tell me what he wants to do. have any ideas of games he would want to play

Games:

1. Take a tray and put a bunch of objects on it - like 5 to begin with depending on his skill. Put a blanket over and pull out one to hide behind your back. Then take the blanket off and see if you can figure out which one is missing.

2.  Play hot/cold/warm. Hide an object around the house and the closer her gets, you say hot. Farterh away: cold.

3.  I used to decorate paper objects like make a bunch of eggs or a bunch of hearts. Then I would hide them around the house and tell him that he needs to find them ( I would tell him that I hid  20 and he had to find all of them)

Find something to hide around the room like a small toy. Have him close his eyes. Hide it fairly easily. And cheer when he finds it. Hide it again. This is fun and easy.

Play the silent memory game. Touch one thing in the room-like a pillow or the tv. Then he has to touch it. Then touch two items. The couch and the tv. Then he goes and touches the couch and the tv. Keep adding items in. Kids love this!

My first grader loves to play checkers, scrabble jr., monopoly jr., uno, battleship, etc.  Board games are a great way to pass time with young kids and they also reinforce educational concepts.

You can find board games very inexpensively at garage sales and thrift stores.  You can also make your own, like charades or win/lose/draw.
