I am babysitting my nephew's 2 year old and he's afraid of bathing. How do I calm him down to get him clean?

The child is filthy because his parents never bathed him from the time he was born; they always just wiped him off with a basin of water. Consequently, he is terrified of the bathtub but he desperately needs a soak. I am quite determined to bathe him tonight, so what can I do to distract him?

  1. Try to play a game with him like pretend that he is a whale or something.

Or ask him to show you how to swim in the water . Hope this helps :)

  2. Toys! Take his boats and water proof animals into the tub and let him take them swimming. Good luck

  3. Put lots of toys in there and bubbles or put your swimsuit on and get in there with him.  Make it as fun as possible

  4. If he has any kind of superhero toys like spiderman, superman...etc... give it a "bath" first to let him know that superheros bathe!!! Hope i was helpful... Goodluck!!! :)

  5. Bubbles, toys, splashing... Anything that he wants that will help ease him, every child is different.  Is there anyone who can get in the tub (his age, cousin) etc that can play with him at the same time? Try taking it slow, if he doesn't respond to this, hurry as much as you can still getting the job done.

  6. You need 2 bath him anyway its his common sense to cry he's not use to it. He don't know that its for his own good.

  7. Just comfort him and put bubbles or shampoo to make bubbles and put his toys in there. Get in with him
