  1. find out how much it costs to make one of something you are making then add a lets say 40% for services onto it (higher or lower depending on how complicated it is to make) then multiply that by how many you need to make

  2. 40 bucks

  3. Take what it costs you in ingredients, unrecoverable materials and utilities, then multiply that figure by three. That is what you charge.

You don't view labour as a per hour charge since it is a catered affair. Multiplying everything else it costs you by three (and I mean everything, including things like gas if you deliver the cake and desserts) will take care of the labour costs.

  4. My cake lady charged by the person, so she charged $5 a head.  BUT, we just had a cake.

Try googling "wedding cake" or "desserts for weddings" and researching what other people are charging.

  5. Several ways to come to your pricing for this service:

Call your local bakery or grocery store that makes the same products you will be making (or similar)...  Go from that point and if you are delivering and setting up the tables then charge by the hour for those services..

OR take all of your costs and charge 4 times the amount.

OR Charge min wage for your time plus your costs of materials and gas.

OR call a catering service and see what they charge by the person for specialized baking such as you are doing.  Then since you are not licensed to perform commercially then give a deduction in pricing - (my preference).

    Good Luck

    Hotttttttttt  Doggggggggg

  6. charge 3 times what they cost you

  7. estimate first the cost of materials, decide how much you want to charge per hour of labor (to make and prepare), and determine how long it would take you.

  8. Decide how much you would charge for an individual dessert. Multiply it by 80, then subtract 15%.

  9. I would try to calculate your cost for ingredients first.  Then try to figure out how much time you are putting into it and what is your time worth?  If it is for family or good friends I would imagine you would do it for less than normal.  I think you should also try to figure out what it would cost the bride and groom if they bought the desserts from a caterer, etc. and charge a little less.  I would guess about $3 - $5/per dessert depending on the complexity, time, ingredients, etc.

  10. I'd say an average of $2 per person plus any extra for your time.  $200 is not unreasonable for desserts for a wedding.

  11. go to a bakery and ask how much they would charge.
