please suggest me the safest and shortest path from amritsar to manali by car,also suggest places to see in and around manali ,also tell me the details of flight (if any) from chandigarh to kullu

Well ! there are two ways for you to drive to Manali...if I would be in your shoes, I would take Amritsar-Gurdaspur-Pathankot-Palampur-Ma... it might take almost 8 to 10 hours for this. This way is good for scenic beauty, less trafic, Hills.

Another route maybe Amritsar-Jalndhar-Phagwara (Bypass)-Nawashahr-Ropar-Kiratpur-Mandi-... the way seems little boring, but has more plain than other way.

(by the way I don't like Kiratpur-Mandi stretch, specially with kids, as it has too much of turns), and also the second way is mostly hot till you pass Mandi
