  1. Healthy tip? Eat vegetarian lol. Irrefutable evidence proves that it is at least equal as the healthiest diet a person can follow the other healthiest being a diet consisting of less than 10% animal based protein (fish in particular).

Being a vegetarian is easy. Just diversify and make sure you get iron, protein and the vital B12. Carb foods like pasta will help keep your weight on. And congrats for being happy with your weight. Not many people are.

  2. yay

    ur a vegetarian!!!!!!!!

  3. i am a part time vegitarian (har har har)... but any way, i have this book about vegan and vegitarian tips, called Skinny B**ch, and its great... a little gruesome at times, but has a whole 20 pgs on a 5 week schedule on healthy choices.... its a good book! consider buying it... but you've got to have guts... trust me

you must have plenty of protein too, since youre not eating meat, so nuts are a perfect choice... also have mucho greens and fruits and get some vitamin tablets

    hope i helped.

ps. a great recipe is cabbage in a pan w/ a little oil and soy sauce, and stir fry it for about 6 min (at most) or until you feel you can eat it. if u cook it to much, it goes soggy and all the nutriemnts are boiled out of it...

you can also add chili powder to it, and this may sound gross, but my family and i love it soo much, that we eat it for breakfast, and for dinner atleast 2 times a week... its amazing!!! you can also add other vegis in, but cabbage is my favorite...

  4. Here are some web sites with some great vegan/vegetarian food.

http://silksoymilk.com -chocolate and chai flavors are good

    http://amys.com

    http://organicfoodbar.com

    http://gardenburger.com

    http://yvesveggie.com

    http://sunshineburger.com

    http://rightfoods.com

    http://veganstore.com -they have chocolate!

    http://nakedjuice.com

    http://www.cedarsfoods.com/

If you have a dog here is a site to get vegan dog food: http://www.v-dogfood.com/

    Here are some good recipes:

Stir fry- You need cut up tofu, soy sauce, olive oil, steamed veggies, and cooked rice

Get a frying pan and coat it with olive oil. The put the tofu in the pan and brown each side of it. Next, add the veggies. Add a little soy sauce and put in the rice. Mix everything up and then let it sit on the stove, occasionally stirring it to make sure it doesn't burn. After about a minute and a half of that put it in a bowl and enjoy!

Hummus- chick peas, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and any other spices/seasonings you like

Puree the chick peas. Then add a little lemon juice, paprika, pepper, and other spices. Then stir. Serve with a pita, with cucumbers, or on a veggie wrap.

Here are some snack and dinner suggestions:

    Snacks:

    Celery with peanut butter

    Apples with peanut butter

    Pita with hummus

    Raisins

    Amy's Apple Toaster Pops

    All natural popsicles

    Natural Valley bars

    Fruit Leather

    Silk Chocolate Soy Milk

    Naked Juice

    Apple chips

    Dinners:

    Tofu Stir Fry

    Amy's Pizzas

    Amy's entrees

Sandwiches made with Yves meatless deli slices

    Tofu Scramble

    Gardenburgers

    Natural Oven's bagels

Dr. McDougall's Soups and Noodle Soups

    Soy Cheese Quesedillas

    Veggie Wraps

Whole foods is a great store for vegetarians/vegans, so I recommend grocery shopping there. You also can get a lot of the things I listed above there.

  5. Basically, make sure you get enough protein and iron, and eat a variety of foods.

Being a vegetarian is really easy and healthier than the average North American diet.

You're making the right choice. Good luck!

  6. Here's a site about health and nutrition for vegetarians to insure you're getting the right balance and are healthy:

And don't worry about weight loss, the majority of vegetarians (including me) don't experience any weight loss. The main reason some lose weight is simply because they're taking in less calories then when they were on a non-vegetarian diet, so if you try to keep the same amount of calories, you shouldn't lose any weight.
