I had a plumbing company install a shower enclosure and a hot water heater in my rental house--they did a horrible job installing the shower-I repeatedly asked the owner of the company to come and look at what I was unhappy about-he refused, now he is suing me for 25K !!! to make an example of me????? I have 30 days to answer the suit-I have no idea what that means. Do I have to hire an attorney? I will pay the guy the $2800 I owe him-I just wanted him to explain why the job was done so poorly-Help

  1. hire a lawyer, take pictures of the horrible work as evidence that they did not do their job. that's crazy the bill is 3k and they sue your for 25k! people suck.

  2. What exactly is he sueing you for? Either way, consulting an attorney would be a good start.

  3. Why don't you just try talking it over. You should threaten to counter sue him, for installing the thing poorly. That will shut him up. d**n I feel like killing those people who sue. *******.

  4. call a lawyer, take picture of his crummy work, documentation is key....but talk to a lawyer.  at the end of it all if you win you can get him to pay your legal cost and time allong with other things

  5. Sorry......you need an attorney........should have gotten one before he got you.............hurry.

  6. Take pictures of the job, get another professional to come in and estimate the damage done or damage he didn't fix and was supposed to. Get all this together and take it with you. Make an example out of him!

  7. Hire an attorney.

It would be good if you have a paper trail of your complaint.  Pictures would be very good.  Having a report from another plumbing company of the problems with the job and estimate to fix the bad installation would be very smart.

Countersue for the repair costs as an offset to your contract amount.  It would be really interesting to see how this contractor came up with $25K if the contract was only $2800.

  8. you need a lawyer immediately. they can help you with all the paperwork better than anyone here can.

  9. Contact your lawyer AND take pictures of the shoddy work done.  You'll need it in court.  The guy is trying to scare you into paying the money, once you pay the money, it basically means to court that you approved the job, otherwise, why would you pay the money?

  10. This is defiantly harassment. Get a lawyer for the suit and tell him about what's going on. When they present it court, hopefully, the judge will see that the company has done a terrible job, not to mention harass one of their customers.
