I am bidding on ebay, but seems like seller is bidding against me?

hi, i have bid for sooo many baseball card boxes for my nephew, but every time I bid, another person that outbids me has a screen name like a***a or i***p, there is always a asteric in the middle(3 to be exact), what is the deal with this, its always a different combo but always with asterics in the middle. is the seller bidding agains me? how can I beat him or her at their own game if thats what they are doing?

they could be bidding against you to drive the price up. but if the first letter is always different, i doubt it is the seller.

i think it is the seller wait till the last minute before the bid is just about to be over and then bid so you will have no other choice but to win. thats what i do and i always win and get the best price for things on ebay.

That is ebay's new procedure where it hides the buyer's identity from others, just don't get into a bidding war and stick to your max bid, if you feel a seller is driving up the price, then stop bidding on that item,,

You should really be educated on ebay before you bid. It's common knowledge that that is how they are protecting people's identities now. It's been this way for many months. It is not the seller! It is simply just another bidder, bidding against you..... because that is what they do. That is what ebay is about - bidding, auctioning. How you win things on ebay.. be the highest bidder.

new ebay system where you cant see the the other buyers name... i think thats what it is because its happened to me and even when i bid my name shows up like a***b... its strange but to answer your question i dont think its the seller
