I want to apply for a chase freedom card which gives you 3% back on your purchases as we are going to be buying quite a bit of items. We will immediately pay the balance off every month but wanted to know how bad it is to open a new card when you are building a house. Thank you so much for any info you can give me!!

  1. It won't hurt your score, for more information on maintaining your credit read this article http://www.monitorbankrates.com/how-to-b...

the site lists several tips on how to maintain your credit score

  2. My credit score is lower then yours and I have a chase freedom card, with no problems. I just pay the minimum, but if can pay off the balance that's even better. I think it's a good idea.

  3. With your credit score, it won't matter at all. It won't make a difference.

  4. if your scores are that high applying for a credit card isn't going to drop your points enough to matter.

  5. You really should not have a problem by paying it off every month....What type of loan do you have for the home right now? Do  you have a construction to perm loan or will you have to get another mortgage after the home is complete?

If you have to get a new loan they will probably need a statement from you credit card company showing a 0 balance depending on your debt to income ratio

  6. with your scores it won't be an issue, unless you go nuts with your debt to equity ratios..
