I am buying a new computer my old computer has all my itunes stuff including applications. Is there a way I can create a new firmware file that has all my music applications and stuff for free on my new computer so I don't have to restore my ipod touch 2.0.1????

go to my computer programs apple and copy all to disk and open to new pc and save to desktop and there u go

if your on a pc, all i can say is good luck. if your on a mac, use the migration assistant (its an app). all you need is a firewire cable to connect the new macs, and the app will do it all for you.

You need to back it up on cd or dvd before decommissioning your old computer.

You need to do that so all the songs are saved and your permission to own them is saved as well

You should just be able to install iTunes and then import your library and settings from your iPod.

Yeah. I'd suggest copying all of it to an external hard drive and then to your new computer if you have one. If not, you could always borrow one from someone. A pretty big flash drive may work too depending on how much stuff you've got.

Put all your files on an external hard drive. Then move it to your new PC.

Erm, get an external hard drive and copy your iTunes library over. You don't need to restore your iPod anyway, just make sure its the same platform ie mac to mac, windows to windows.  If its different platform you will have to re-format your pod.

You can copy your iTunes folder.

It is located in your music folder.

copy the folder and replace the itunes folder on your new computer with that folder.
