  1. Rabbits are high maintenance if cared for properly.

    Please adopt, don't buy http://www.petfinder.com/

  2. I have a friend who has a female rabbit. She seems really easy to take care of. They keep her in a cage in the living room, they let her out every now and then to run around the house, but for the most part she's content to sit in her cage and eat her hay...

  3. The fist pet that you get WILL need alot of care only coz you are not used to a pet. After a while, it will become easier. It is very important to pay extra attention when you have a baby rabbit as they obviously require more care and tending to when they are so young. Make sure that you have all the instructions to take care of it by a vet or a professional and then welcome the little friend home. :)

  4. no not to worry buy both of them they will take care of themselves, and will get one free within a short time

  5. Rabbtis do take an average amount of care. brushing, nail trimming, and regular handling. My advice is dont get 2 I breed rabbits and their are a lot of things that can go wrong. Plus and average litter is about 6 babies. Males tend to be more even tempered, females get grouchy if you dont breed them. Be careful and please do some research. Pets are not toys.

  6. It does require a lot of effort. Rabbits are definitely not low maintenance pets. Do some research on their care and decide for yourself if it's for you:

Gender doesn't make much difference. Both sexes should be fixed though for their health and because it cuts down on lots of behavioral problems (aggression, spraying etc). More on fixing rabbits: http://www.petinfopackets.com/rabbits/ra...

  7. Well, all pets will require a lot of effort. Depending on size and needs of the pet.

But since it is the first time you're getting a pet, I suggest start out a bit smaller. Like a little fish. They're easier to take care of sinces all you do is change them (water, clean tanks/bowls) and feed them. And they don't take up that much time and space neither. Then maybe a hamster. After getting smaller pets, you'll start learning about responsibility and what's it like to have a pet and how much time it takes up. If you're often busy, I don't reccomend a pet.

Now about the rabbits. It's not neccessary to get two. Especially when getting a male AND a female. If they breed, you will have much more to do. ;)

The more experiance you have, the easier it will be for you.

    Good luck!

  8. Taking care of a rabbit doesn't require a lot of effort at all.  That is ridiculous.  I have a lot of rabbits.  First of all get a cage with a wire bottom where the tray slides out to clean it because then you don't have to worry about changing bedding.  I give my rabbits nutriphase pellets and an unlimited amount of timothy hay daily.  Also, make sure that fresh water is always available.  Put wood chews in their cage.  Their teeth are constanty growing and wood chews keep them from getting too long.  A few times a week you can give them fruits or veggies.  Kale is the best.  It is very healthy for them and they love it.  Just don't give any fruits or veggies until they are six months old.  I have a play pen area for my rabbits.  This way they are getting exercise but are contained.  Get a small rabbit.  Netherland dwarfs are great.  I own one.  They are the smallest breed of rabbits.  Full grown they are 2.5 lbs.  They are extremely friendly and great with kids.  You can also get a Holland Lop.  They are also a small breed of rabbit with a great disposition.  I love my French Lop but she is big so it costs a lot more to feed her.  Over all though rabbits don't require a whole lot of care and attention.  I have a male and a female and I like them both.  You don't need to buy two at the same time.  Rabbits should have a cage all to themselves so that they don't fight.  If I had to chose I prefer my male though.  He is really sweet and easy going. My girl is a little high strung and moody at times.

  9. Nobody deserves a pet until they learn to capitalize letters and type their words out instead of using chatspeak. this isn't a chatroom.
