I found a nice fleetwood bounder(one i have always liked the look of), and its 1988, with 14,000 miles. I am finding a lot like this one- the 2003 and newer models tend to be either $40,000-$70,000 used, or have over 50k miles on them. Which is better for the long run?

  1. I would say low mileage for sure

  2. I don't care the manufactured year......if there is no miles on it - to me it is basically new.  Not broken in.   Right?  It has the "older style"   SO??? who the "H" dictates what the style should or should not be?     My own opinion.

(But it always seems the old styles come back)

  3. I would say newer.

With RV's low miles could have people that lived in them.  A/C used in storage.  Hoses / belts worn by dry rot.

The frige could be used often + other parts such as toilet etc.

  4. I would be very cautious about a 1988 with only 14k miles on it.

It has obviously been sitting a long time and not being driven.  A lot of things can go wrong with vehicles that have been sitting for extended periods of time.

Seals dry up, metallic parts rust, rubber hoses and gaskets get brittle and leak. Fluids tend to break down.  Not to mention that this was probably somebodies home for 2 decades so the interior and the appliances are probably worn out.  Plumbing and electrical systems are old.

I'd be asking the seller a lot of questions about where this vehicle has been for the last 20 years.

  6. None!  We ALL need to conserve gas, not waste it!  How you going to drive that thing?  You can afford $4.00 plus every six miles?

  7. My experience is that mileage doesn't matter, For ANY vehicle.  Proper maintenance is key, and at the very least, poper maintenance after the purchase...

Find a vehicle that YOU like, and feel that you can afford, Then enjoy it.

I wouldn't hesitate to go for the older model, considering that it is a toy, and the price differential of the newer models.
