  1. Little more information, how did you get a SSN?  


  2. If you don't have a work permit, green card or US citizenship then no, you can not legally work in the US.  Travel yes, like any Canadian you are allowed to travel to the US.

    Compare this to the Canadian SIN.  If I came to Canada as a PR and got a permanent SIN, later moved away and lost my PR for staying away too long, I would still have a SIN but I would not be allowed to work.
