  1. The only way to know for sure is to contact your state's Department of Education and request a copy of the state's requirements for the certification areas of special education in which you are interested.  (Often there are many.)

    These requirement should outline the degree requirements as well as the course requirements for each certification area.

    Some states will also have other requirements such as teaching experience in general education.

    Requirements will vary from state to state. The only accurate information you can get for your state is from its certification office.


  2. I'm not sure about your state, but where I live, I just had to pass a Praxis exam. Contact your state department of education- the info may even be on their website. Good luck!

  3. If you are already employed in a school district, there is someone at your central office that is in charge of licensure and add-on areas that can help you. If you are not employed in a school system, you can contact a local sschool system, the Department of Public Instruction in Wyoming, or an education college in Wyoming that could look at your transcript and help you out. A Praxis test is almost always involved.
