Automaticaly, does it produce a punch, as in a thrust, or are you forced to use this like a standard baton, and it act more like a club only?

  1. A true police baton expands with centripetal force, not a button.  The force locks it in place so it can't collapse during 'battle'.

  2. Expandable batons are illegal in most states.

  3. Are you trying to replay the cartoon GADGET? lol

yes they are available with these features and you have to find on ebay

  4. the asp or police baton has to be flicked with the wrist to be opened.  to make it go back in, you need to hit it on the ground.  the asp could have an L shaped handle like the pr 24.

  5. it depends on which baton you buy. some of them don't have a button at all, you just pull it, which is less prone to jamming so has it's own advantages. myself, I wouldn't use one that had a button to shoot out and hit someone it most likely would not have enough power to do much unless it had like a gas motor or something. a spring one, though, would not work well for that.

  6. Anti is right. They are illegal to carry by private citizens in most states. Most common collapsible baton is the ASP. They open by flicking them outward and they lock into place. They close by bringing the tip down hard on a hard surface (concrete). The ASP is generally used in defense, with strikes to the arms and legs. Striking someone with an ASP simply because they will not comply will get your *** in serious trouble. A strike to the forearm or hand with an ASP is extremely effective because you are almost guaranteed to break a bone. Once again, that can carry serious repercussions. I carry an ASP on duty. I use it more as a probe (not anal) than anything else.
