I am getting a Uromastyx next week and I am confused about what kind of vitamin supplement I should give him. Also the people at the reptile store told me to feed him parakeet food in addition to fresh greens, is this right? I want to make sure I have a nice, safe setup for him before I bring him home.

  1. If you are getting a female Uromastryx, give it extra calcium for egg build up. You can give it neo-calglucon.

    Good luck.

  2. herp - tivite(vitamins) and repto-cal(calcium). hobby stables and proven by zoos and THOUSANDS of private keepers/breeders. cant go wrong with theses 2. both can be ordered herehttp://www.bigappleherp.com/i almost missed the whole parakeet food thing, NO!!!! you need to buy a few good books and do more research before you buy your Uro. you will be doing yourself and the Uro a huge favor.

  3. You'll need a calcium/D3 (no phosphorus) powder (Rep-cal is best) and a multi-vitamin powder to use once a week.  Keep a dish of Pretty Bird finch pellets down at all times for him to nibble on.  It is more digestible than seed.  Here is some good info:
