  1. if your daughter has those type of issues the Internet is not the answer, plus many children unsupervised on the Internet, end up missing.. cut the net off.. and remember you can only file bankruptcy once.. make it worth it.. go sign up for food stamps or some sort of public assistance

  2. Filing for Chapter 7 will not solve a problem that involves a general shortfall of your monthly income......You did not specify if you have any credit card debt....it would help to know if this is also an issue.

  3. What do you owe that you are considering bankruptcy?  Bankruptcy won't do a thing for your basic monthly bills.  Looking at what you posted, the first thing I would cut is your cable.  A basic home phone line runs about $20.  You can live without cable television and internet.  Use dial up or the public library.

Child support can NOT take that much of his check.  The law is that the order of support must leave at least $176.50 after taxes for the wage earner.  It can take everything up to that point but if your bf earns very little, the child support can not take up his whole check.  (My office shares space with our corporate garnishment office and I do some work for them.)

Unless you have some heavy debts, bankruptcy won't do anything for you.

  4. Vis..

My company is an alternative to BK. Often times there is no real reason to ruin your credit for 10 years, and pay ludacris lawyer fees

For all of you thinking about going  bk go here

  5. I would start looking for a new job right away. I would also take your BF off the checking acct, if his name is on it they can take money from that acct (even if it is your money) for child support. Also, when was the last time he had the case reviewed for support payments. He may be paying way more then he should be in support.

What is your debt, like credit card debt and such? Bankruptcy wont help your situation if you are not that far into debt. so far all you have mentioned is your monthly budget and lack of money.

Gas and food costs are crazy now a days so I can see how the $400 extra you have goes straight to that. There are ways out of minimal debt with out filing. Bankruptcy isn't the answer to lack of money.

    Good Luck

  6. You dont say much about your debts (credit cards, foreclosures, hospital bills, all you have is living expenses,

we all have those, right now people are going thru a

hard times, somerecession, but if youre in the low % that

dont have any credit card debt, yore lucky. I lost my job

after 8 years, no income, ccdebt 13,000 owe mortgage

513 and i really dont know where to turn, at least you have a

job. but theresthings that you can do if you want some extra

cash in your pocket, that cable 114 could be a couple of

weekends going out with your daughter so she wount be

stuckall day in that living room/ maybe take her sometimes

to public library they have internet maybe read some

books. But whoever does bankruptcyfor any reason doesn

not have to do it jointly, you keep your husband/boyfriend

out of it. If you owe onthe car yes, theywill take it unless its

paid for. Talk to abankruptcy lawyer, to see which debts

    you have.  Good luck!!!

  7. You seem to be in okay shape, financially...Bankruptcy shouldn't even cross your mind.  Bankruptcy should only be used if your debt exceeds your assets. You rent, and you own a car..there is nothing you can really bankrupt on. Plus bankruptcy only helps you when you want to protect your house from foreclosing or...your car repossessed because you have no money to pay and you are 3 months or more behind on your payments.

Also, bankruptcy on a credit report looks really bad and will have a great negative impact on your score. It stays on your report for 10 years.

  8. Why do you think you're bankrupt?

    Total bills:

    $614 rent

    $130 lights

    $114 cable

    $450 other bills

    $90 insurance

    Total: $1398

That leaves $400 for food and savings.

I agree with the answer above me, if you and your boyfriend are sharing accounts, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

For one thing, the IRS may consider you paying for his expenses to be a 'gift', and therefore hit you with 'the gift tax'.

You should keep your expenses and income separate from his.

The law treats you two as roommates, i.e., strangers who entered a business relationship to figure a way to get cheaper rent than either of you could do separately.

  9. You should never share an account with someone who is not your spouse.  That is a disaster waiting to happen.  Your bills are less than your bring home.  How are you not making it?  If you file for bankruptcy, it is much harder to get it off your record than it was a few years ago.  That would be your last option.  My friend filed for bankruptcy and their car was not taken away - and it was not paid for.

  10. With your money alone you have at least 400$ left for bills, that is PLENTY for food and other necessities, also an electric " light " bill for a 1 bedroom apartment should really not be 130$ consider turning off you lights when you leave. Bankruptcy is not your solution, there is absolutely no way that 400$ a month is not enough for you to get by on and if it is then get another job and get your own account before all your money magically disappears one day. By the way, you should be living in the living room, not your daughter she deserves the better option.
