  1. Well, you could try going to the Library and make use of that which you wish to work in and learn more about.

  2. i used to be librarian at my old school, and it was very fun i you get to help many people... and once you get used to it, you actually feel more smarter...

  3. The first thing you need is an in-ate love of books, you also require the ability to advise people when they ask, which books they should be reading on any specific subject, so it will become obvious that a successful librarian needs to put in many many hours of study. I wish you luck.

  4. I would look into what the requirements for being a school librarian are in your state, to begin with. I know that in Texas, you must get an Education degree (undergrad) and then a degree in Library Science (master's) before becoming a school librarian.

  5. you have to be hot just because that's every guys fantasy! haha.

  6. maybe you should memorize the locations of certain books in the room when kids need help finding them like what area fiction and non-fiction books are, and read more often and give them reviews on what are exciting and not so exciting books, or what books are challenging

  7. I was a part time librarian at Uni and know a couple. I'm not sure what kind of advice you are looking for. The Dewey-Decimal system is simple to use.

It's tedious putting books back where they should be but it needs to be done. The admin is straightforward. You need to be pretty assertive because some kids have no respect for books and like to use the library as a noisy hangout area.

Some librarians demand total quiet but I think that people use the library more if it's a friendly, tolerant place to chill out and chat quietly. The best librarians get feedback on the borrowed books so they can recommend books to anyone. If you are going to enjoy the job, get interactive with all the kids and listen to what they say about the books. Encourage warmth and informality in the library.
