If you have the qualifications required, then there are stacks of jobs. Try for a private school if you can.

To work as a teacher, you must be registered with Western Australian College of Teaching.  If you qualified elsewhere in Australia, it won't take long.

If you want state schools in metro area, you might have to be "not choosy" for a while.  Rural schools will leap at a chance to have you.  Non-govt schools advertise each week in the newspaper and online job sites.

well I am going to say different, there are a lot of schools that are religious ie christian or anglican etc if you don't mind that you'll land a job dead quick, a friend of mine is trainning to be a teachers assitant and on her placement they offered her a job. the paper is full of teaching jobs every week

You might be best advised to contact the relevant union, who should have a good idea about how things are on the ground.

I have enquired about this and primary jobs are hard to find around the Perth area.However,they need teachers in remote areas of W.A.I guess the best thing is to try doing some supply teaching first.I assume you would also need to be registered there to teach.

All the jobs that are in short supply are specialist high school teachers in Maths and Sciences, and some other teachers in the remote localities.

if you are a qualified teacher you should have no problems getting a job as there is a shortage of teachers
