Looking to build inexpensively and don't have much experience in building. Thought the concrete walls installed by the vendor would save me $$$ over the labor needed for building a stick built building. Its going to be a barn w/living quarters upstairs, so the bottom doesn't need to be finished, just spray paint the concrete, inside/out. Any insight into prefab concrete wall building is appreciated. Especailly the rough cost of a 36 x 48 foot building with 12 foot high walls.

  1. pre-fab aluminum would be cheaper. concrete is always made expensive. there are many companies that specialize in those pre-fab aluminum buildings and i'm sure they can be modified to accommodate living quarters. id check into that before you go with concrete.

  2. Building your building this way will probably cost 3 times as much if not more.  The reasons would be like needing a  crane, experienced labor contractor, custom sized walls, and even availability.  Your best bet would be to stick frame or even block walls.  You will be surprised at the dollar difference.  good luck.

  3. Living quarter on 2nd floor requireds bathroom facility and at a additional cost.  U need to hook up sewer line.  Electricity and gas.  Ventilation/ A/C...etc.  Ur looking at $45,000 to $50 g and that's the lowwww end.  foot print 3500 sq ft.

  4. i would get a estiamate they are free and persice . i cant really tell ya cause it could be differant where you live
