Barcelona is a port city. The shipping company handling your cruise should have hotels listed. If not, and you are arriving by plane, upon arrival go to the hotel information bureau and ask for information about hotels located near the docks.

If you are cruising FROM Barcelona, the closest town is...Barcelona.  There are thousands of hotels in town.

The name of the port is...the port.  Ok, the cruise ships probably leave from the new port, since the old port was all private sail boats and small yachts.  (That would be Port Vell, the new one would be something like Port Nov  Puerto Nuevo in Spanish)

There are a multitude of hotels, hostales, pensiones of all stripes near the port, in the new area built for the Olympics, and further over to the South, near and on the Ramblas.
