I am specifically requesting information regarding the trip across the Atlantic, as I am sailing both ways.

  1. Its quite warm believe it or not!  Its the best time to cruise if you ask me, kids are still in school and it isn't so hot you can't stand it.  Also its AFTER hurricane season too so yeah, you picked a good time to go.

  2. The hurrican season has lasted longer over the past couple of years, so storms cannot be ruled out, although that is officially at the end of the hurricane season.  Average temperatures at that time of year are 77ºF to 87ºF. It is a very good time of year to pick for your holiday.

  3. The water is colder than the rest of the year but in reality is not cold at all. In october the surfing season starts due to the cold fronts that come from the north, so maybe a few waves will deviate your sailing path across the atlantic. I will look fro more info with a close friend who is an oceanographer and be back.
