scuse me ..."gabriel" I have never been a "lawbreaker" and in fact am a nice old lady...I no longer trust the police to DO the right thing...I have seen them break the law over the last thirty years and more lately. Just wondering if other non-crimenals have noticed the same thing?

  1. Any profession who wear uniforms attract people on power trips and who have big ego's...

the police ultimately exist to protect person and property...

it is sad to realise that these days..property is more important than person...

  2. Excuse me? When were they not militarized? --- How long ago was it that police walked around without guns? When did they not have ranks and roll calls?

  3. :)

    For future ´´problems´´

i can only advise you to fight when it is needed(needed already)

    150 millions can do alot..

create a third party with noble, honest people like the ex wrestler

    force it by power

  4. Many of us are prior service.

We wear uniforms, have regulations for our dress and appearance, and have a ranking system...........Why would that be a factor in the public's trust?  I would be more concerned if the Police in my town dressed like clowns, didn't have a command structure, and were unarmed.

    Edit:

Once again I would be more concerned if the Police were not armed well enough to protect my family from the evil men in the world.  I carry a Colt Commando in my patrol car........fully auto.  Here is why:

    Columbine High School Massacre

    North Hollywood Shoot Out

    Pearl High School Shooting

    The Virginia Tech Shooting

The Shooting at the Mall in Omaha that killed eight people.

Those and many more are the reasons I carry a rifle on patrol.  How I am armed has nothing to do with my disposition towards law abiding people.  I just want to go home to my family when I get off duty.

  5. Every organization has those who do the wrong thing. The DC police?..... well you know and I know as I live in the region.

Having AR-15s is not going to really change any of that. If and officer was already inclined to use his sidearm inappropriately having an AR won't make a difference.

There are a lot of places that the police really don't want to go into since they know they will be outgunned. So by the time they actually get SWAT out there lives may have already been lost.

Studies in other cities have actually show that crime goes down when the police are issued rifles. They also show this....... a shotgun causes a wider radius of lethality so the bystanders are more likely to be injured. Hence the officer is more hestitant to employ it...... giving the criminal a sense of security and more time to cause more damage.

A rifle is more accurate and a criminal can just be taken out without endagering others. And from a further distance. This will give some criminals pause.

My only real issue with this is if the police department will spend enough money and time for training, set up rules of engagement and protocols. Knowing DC probably not.

Added.... I don't know how I got on the Washington DC thing as you did not mention the area. But it is the same everywhere. It is not like the old days when people respected the law. Now there has to be an implied threat for the police to do their job.

  6. I hate their quotas and hidden agendas..

however there's still cops that actually care about protecting what's "right" and DONT go on power trips..

For example, the first time i got arrested , the cop was friendly,on the long ride to the county jail, he blared Rage Against The Machine ("killing in the name of") and Nirvana ("smells like teen spirit")

haha. I mean, as a young criminal i thought this cop was pretty cool. So. i guess that goes to show you you CAN trust your police, just not all of them?
