  1. I have a low handicap as well and I found that hybrids were easier to hit long straight and land soft. I hit long irons very well but these are easier. A lot of the pro's feel the same or they wouldn't have so many on the tour. Try one. Treat it like it is a 7 iron, strike down and be amazed. I love my Nickent 3, and 4 hybrid's. Good luck.


  2. If you are a 7 handicap player, you have no business asking a question " if a hybrid is necessary". Something is wrong with the picture.  Golfers who hit their irons well have little need for hybrids. Their complement of woods like 5, 7, or even 9 are ample weapons to play from rough  removing the need for hybrids.

  3. Why fix something that isn't broken?  If you hit your long irons well, keep the long irons and forget the hybrids.

  4. Use a hybrid. That should work.

  5. not if you are good with long irons i use hybrids because they are much easier to draw and fade
