I am currently on H4 and applied for H1 in April 2007.?

I am currently on H4 and applied for H1 in April 2007. Can I visit India in May or June for a month or two on current H4 and get it stamped there and come back to US on H4. Are there any chances that my H4 might get rejected while stamping. Will it affect my H1 application. Should I complete my trip before the H1 is approved? If I am in india and my H1 gets approved , what can be the consequences then?

In todays times anything can happen.The rules change daily,so just be prepared for anything.Carry enough money to be detained a week or two just in case.

You can come in and out of the US on an H4 visa for as long as the H1 visa (your spouse) is still in effect. There is no time limit. If your H1 is approved, the only consideration is if your employer needs you immediately as they might get another person and you have lost your H1.
