  1. Hi there! A working holiday visa for oz must be applied :)

    Requirements include:

"You must have sufficient funds (generally deemed to be at least- AU$5,000) to support your trip and purchase a return airfare"

"You cannot also work for the same employer for more than six months."

You can check out other requirements here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/working/...

Try the online assessment to see if you're eligible to apply for a working holiday visa.

  2. You'll find all the information you need in here:

    http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-...

Most people can lodge their application online. If you are from the UK you will be able to do it that way. You must be granted the visa before travelling to Australia; it will not be granted to someone who is already here.

  3. Absoulutely agree. You must obtain your WHV first. Its quite straight forward but you will have to fork out the relevant fee. The alternative is to purchase an Electronic Visa Authority (ETA) through the same site, but you will not be able to work without this. Only Australians and New Zealand Citizens can work in OZ qithout relevant visas.

Good luck have a great trip and try to get out of Sydney to see a little more of this great Country.
