I called my school about not putting peanuts or nuts in the vending machines because I am deathly allergic. They said that there was nothing that they could do about it because they had a contract with a company. There is this girl in school who is allergic to latex and we're not allowed to bring anything in the school that contains latex. I don't think it's fair that the school chooses to protect her and not me. I can pretty much almost die if I even touch anything with nuts in it. Are they breaking any laws or ordinances by doing this?

The school is in Texas

  1. i am allergic to the same thing. the best thing to do is not eat any food from the vending machines. just ask around when its lunch time.

  2. Most of the time vending machines are fine, but just stay away to be safe.  There's really not much else to do. The school does have a contract that they must abide by, so you have to take responsibility for staying away from what you are allergic to.
