First, contact your local Red Cross for a referral to free legal aide in your area...they are usually stingy, but they may help in your circumstances.

If you are on SSI/SSDI, your wages cannot be garnished even if they get judgments against you, so you would be judgement proof.  If you are not on SSI/SSDI and you work on a job with a low wage, you should probably think about filing for Chapter 7.....This is speculation based on the limited info you provided.
