I feel tired a lot (I have full time school, part time job, husband, household, etc), and don't have the energy to execerise like my doctor tells me.

I also feel like I am addicted to food.

Between both of these problems, I keep gaining weight.

Any suggestions for motivation to lose weight?

  1. Did you have thyroid exam?

  2. I know this sounds cliche, but try to find an exercsie routine and stick with it...you may find after a few weeks you start to see your energy level increase. Try walking briskly twice a day for just 15 minutes...stick to it. I hope that helps and i hope you get to where you want to be. Stay strong...you can do this!!!

  3. I am a new diabetic,( and Fibromyalgia) and I was having the symptoms as you are, I couldn't even get out of bed....I asked my Dr. about a harmone lab. Checks for levels of estrogen/testosterone. My results were not good.

My Dr.has me on a prescription now that has helped me. If you are on any other meds( anti-depressants,birth control.etc..?) they may contribute to problem..I have a really good Dr. who listens and suggests. Also try to have healthy snacks for you as well as your family,as you do seem to have a lot going on.

p.s. make sure you tr to get some quality sleep at night......Good Luck!

  4. my daughter is also diabetic.she used to inject twice a day but now injects at each meal.this has helped her control plus her weight because before she had to eat snacks every couple of hours.i used to give her fruit instead of biscuits for the snacks as i was worried the constant eating would make her fat.she wanted a dog so we got her one so now she walks the dog to keep slimmer also we got her a full sized trampolene which has the nets on them.she uses that for fun but she also is keeping fit

  5. Carb cravings and exhaustion go hand in hand.  Funny that we get carb cravings when our sugar is high and shouldnt eat it and are too tired to do anything anyway... Heres the thing.  Youre eating more which raises your blood sugar and so you have to take more insulin and excess insulin turn into fat as do the carbs.  So essentially, we diabetics get a double dose on the fattening stuff.  And most people say, well dont eat, but I dont think most people understand how strong that carve craving can be.  Heres what I do. Sugar free popcicles, peanuts (in shells) and diest soda.  Its practically free foods and peanuts are loaded with protein and basically, your replacing a craving.  Gum works well too.  That craving can be as bad as a smoker trying to stop.  And as silly as it sounds, putting something else in your mouth that wont raise the blood sugar works great and you basically are just tricking your body's craving that youre putting something in it. Oh, and with the diet soda, I recomend a caffeine free one to avoid a caffeine addiction.  Its not a cure but its a really good fix to start.
