Give reasons why you feel organ donation is not something you would want to do.

  1. I don't oppose organ donation. I look at it this way: If you don't want to donate an organ for someone, that's fine. But what if the person's relative who you've refused to donate an organ to was asked to donate an organ to your sick Mother/Father?  Pretend that after you've refused to give an organ to that dieing person, they pass away a few days later because no one else was donating their organs to him/her. Wouldn't you feel bad? Then the dead woman's/man's relative was asked to give your dieing Mother/Father an organ, and they refused, as did you. Then you'd feel really bad. I'm just speaking hypothetically. <(-'.'-)^

  2. My parents always said that it was taking your life into your own hands, and that you should allow God to heal you. At the time, they were big into faith healing. They felt that there was a time to live, and a time to die, and you were unnaturally prolonging your life if you had an organ transplant. I hope that none of my younger siblings will need a transplant before 18. I am listed as an organ donor, as I don't have a problem with it - my cousin who is younger than me had a liver transplant years ago.

  3. Well, I'm for it, but the usual reason people don't do it is for religious reasons.  Some religions don't want you to cut up your body after you die.

Also, some people would rather be paid for their organs, which has led to a booming organ-selling program in some areas (like in South America...seems like it was in Peru or somewhere.)  Some people don't want to give it away for free when they could be paid for it.

But I think selling organs is disgusting and could lead to a booming organ-stealing program (like where those organ thieves were cutting up cadavers and selling off tissues, even from really old sick dead people, like Alistair Cooke, who died of cancer.  That's messed up.)
