I am doing an essay in response the global warming debate. I am debating that the earths temperature has been warming and cooling for centuries, and not because it is man made. My question is where can I find credible sources for this debate?

  1. Go to any website but i recomend you go to google and search gw and try to see what you can do to help it from beginning you can also watch 6 degrees can change the world/

  2. Do searches on "Solar Weather", "CO2 lagging indicator", and "CO2 percentage atmosphere, anthropogenic". I'd stay away from the Liberal Press. They have their own agenda, and are likely to provide just enough truth to cover their arses.

    Use this: Google Scholar

Enables searching for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts, and technical reports from all broad areas of ...

  3. Global warming is a proven fact.

The consequences and causes are what is up for debate.

  4. GLOBAL WARMING IS A MYTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I watched RedEye the other night, and they said some scientists are saying there could be evidence of global cooling now. add that into part of your essay. that should be a little exciting part of information that no one else in your class has.

Here are a few websites I found for information on Global cooling:

    http://www.dailytech.com/Solar+Activity+...

  6. Hmmm...there was just a convention of anti-global warming scientists this week.   I believe I read about it in the New York Times on Monday maybe.  Try the NYT site (free)...maybe it will have additional info for you.

  7. There was an interesting program on a while back called The Great Global Warming Swindle. Assuming you are familiar with torrents, go to http://www.mininova.org/tor/638880

  8. check the nytimes, i seem to remember reading something about that recently (you can read the archives online)... or newsweek.

  9. time magazine

  10. Good luck trying to getting someone to answer this question using a SCIENTIFIC source.

The best that you can hope for are links to 1) ENERGY INDUSTRY lobbyists, such as the Heartland Institute:

    The Cato Institute:

    Science and Public Policy Institute:

    Science & Environmental Policy Project

or 2) random articles written by conservative pundits and published in the opinion page.

Oh and by the way… OF COURSE CLIMATE HAS CHANGED IN THE PAST, no one is claiming that it hasn’t.  Please try to learn when has caused climate change in the past, and why none of these causes can be responsible for the global warming we are experiencing today. Also what kind of a time scale are we talking about here?

  11. After you get some ideas here, check out the refutations of many common denier arguments at the site below.  Your opponents will know this stuff, and you'll want to be prepared for them.

  16. You need to be more precise in the question. I assume you mean Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW). Here are some good sites.

  17. I have recommended this site a lot since I found it.  A high school student shows that CO2 is not a well correlated with recent temperature anomalies and suggests a better correlation.  She did a great job.

  18. Good luck.  The scientific community is in agreement, the media is just playing it like it's still up in the air.  Check out the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report released in November of 2007.  It's free on the internet and full of science.

  19. Global warming is not the correct term.

    it's climate change.

    Start there.

Work up on it with the internet.

    And books.

Just start to mound it up till you have your display.

    Easy peasey lemon squeezy!

if you think about it to much and plan for the worst, it WILL be the worst.

but i you think positive, you'll be fine.

    don't worry bout it, hun.

  20. Nowhere. If you want credible sources, you should argue for the other side.
