  1. You can do pursue an MBA when you've done your undergraduate in something else however; I doubt you will get accepted into a program unless you have professional work experience. An MBA is described as a "post work" experience degree. It is designed for professionals who are looking to step up to the management/administration level.  Most MBA programs require at LEAST three years of work experience in a professional environment. Working at McDonald's for three years or some other temporary job usually doesn't count towards this work experience. I've seen some MBA programs who won't even LOOK at applicants unless they have at least five years of professional work experience.

In addition MBA programs are very expensive! My good English friend is taking an MBA course at Kings College in London and it's costing him nearly 20,000 pounds! Because of this, many companies will actually pay and sponsor you to complete an MBA and will often boost you up to a management/administration level job after its completion.

My last comment has to do with work experience. Even if you are accepted into an MBA program you will have a BSc and an MBA qualification but no professional work experience. In this day and age work experience means A LOT. I have a BSc in Software Engineering myself and have found first hand that most companies are scared to touch you unless you have work experience. For example a similar candidate with a BSc in Bio-Tech with 5 years of work experience would probably have a better chance of getting a management level job  than you because he/she has experience, which in my opinion is worth more than qualifications. Degrees and school are a good way to get in the door but it takes a lot more than those to suceed.

Just something to think about. Go ahead and apply but my advice would be, work a bit, gain some experience, than do an MBA. Qualifications and work experience are a great combo and companies will be trying to hire you left and right if you have both. Just my two cents.
