I am downloading movies that are 720p & 1080p; CAN I burn them on DVD?

To be more specific, what I want to know is because these movies are 720p (take up about 4-5 Gigs) and 1080( about 10 Gigs) I want to know if i can but them on a DVD so that I can watch it on my TV.

If there is a way, does it involve converting the video, so it compresses... and my compressing it wont that worsen the quality?

Yes, as long as your DVD has enough space.
