Hi, I'm renting a Toyota Camry to drive to Nashville, TN from Washingto DC. The drive is a little over 800 miles. How much do you think I will spend on gas roundtrip?

  1. To be on the safe side, figure on the Camry getting 20 MPG (I know they're more fuel-efficient than that, but you should estimate low, just to be safe).  If the drive is 800 miles, divide 800 by 20 and you get 40 gallons of gasoline.  Again, to be on the safe side, figure $5.00 a gallon for gasoline.  40 gallons at $5.00 a gallon is $200.00, so double that for round trip and you get $400.00.  You'll probably spend quite a bit less than that, but better safe than sorry...

  2. 25 miles per gallon....32 gallonseach way....64 gallonsX4 dollars..equals 256 dollars....im amazed at the lack of math skills>>>

  3. Depends on the mpg of the car, which I'm not going to bother looking up.

If the car gets 20mpg, then that's 40 gallons.  If the car gets 40mpg, that's 20 gallons.  Probably somewhere in between.

Now multiply the number of gallons by how much a gallon costs.

Ballpark, I'd say around $120 for 800 miles of driving, so $240 roundtrip.

  4. Assume Camry gets 28 mpg.

    about $114.00 each way.

  5. If the car can get 28 miles per gallon, at $4.20 per gallon the round trip will cost $240 (1600/28x4.2).
