  1. Take 2 aspirin and drink a least a quart of water before you go to bed.

The key to beating a hangover is to make sure that your brain is hydrated. Drinking lots of water will make that happen as alcohol sucks the water from your brain. The aspirin are to help prevent a headache.

If you can't find the pills, just drink a lot of water, take Tylenol/aspirin, banana helps too.

  15. Several things can definitely help prevent a hangover:

Water (part of the hangover is dehydration)

Salt (salt will cause you to get less dehydrated)

Food (this will slow the absorption of the alcohol, giving your liver a chance to metabolize it)

B-vitamins (drinking alcohol depletes your body of B-vitamins)

    Now, for the pseudoscience:

Fructose (fruit sugar, found in most fruits and honey has quite a bit) is said to help the body metabolize the alcohol.  I read this somewhere, about 20 years ago.  Back in my younger days, when we'd go on week-long ski trips in the mountains, just before bed, I'd drink a large glass of orange juice with a tablespoon of honey in it and a B-50 vitamin.  (Today, I'd add a magnesium supplement too, but I've no proof it has anything to do with a hangover.)  Despite our rather high alcohol consumption on those trips, I never got a hangover, which was important because we were getting up at 6:30am to go skiing.

P.S.  Only part of drunkenness is caused by dehydration.  The impaired decisionmaking and slow reactions are from the fact that alcohol affects the central nervous system.  The stumbling and bedspins are from dehydration because the fluid levels in the semicircular canals in your ears drop when you get dehydrated.  That's also why some people say that you can get drunk again the morning after by simply drinking water.  The sudden increase of fluid in the semicircular canals can also make you weave when you walk and can even give you bedspins again.
