Yes, I will be filing for US citizenship but I will like to file for my parents so they can become permanent residents. They are not US residents and they donot reside in the US, They have been refused a visa 3 times to come visit me on the grounds that they donot have enough proof that they will be returning back to their country of origin. My dad is 67 and my mom is 59

  1. You have to become a citizen first, then file for a visa for your parents

  2. Yep, you need to get squared away citizenship wise and then later you can apply for them to come. You can't do this all at the same time.

  3. US citizenship? yes you can, but are your parents eligible? if so go ahead just make sure your parents pass the test!

  4. You cannot file for citizenship and petition you parents concurrently.

Since when you file the N-400 for citizenship that usually takes around 18 months to complete the entire process as filing is only the first step towards citizenship.

If you file concurrently the petition will be denied since you are still ineligble to sponsor them as a permenent resident.

You can only sponsor them once you do become a citizen of the United States.

  5. when you are a citizen you can file for the green card for ur parents and they get it so fast in like couple of months they get the immigration visa and when they are in the united states they send them the green card to the place they stay in the united states

  6. If you were a perminant resident at the time you said your parents were refused visa on the specified reason, then you must have applied a visitor's visa for your parents. If you had had petitioned them for immigration benefits, they would not be required to show evidence that they would return to their home country at all. If you become a citizen, you have priority and your petition will be procced much faster than if you were not. Unless you got your naturilazation certificate, you are not considered yet and your application will be pushed the second priority list. I suggest you wait until you got your citizenship before you petition your parents. O I forgot that you cannot petition your parents for immigration benefits until you are a citizen. You should wait until your citizenship is certified.
