  1. Learning the basics of passing is a must, passing is one of the most important elements of the game. Try not to swing your arms by getting underneath the ball with your legs. Also, try to get involved with any camps offered. They help keep you fit well improving your skills, also coaches look for hard-working players. Serving can win games for your team. Make sure your toss is just right- practice it by throwing the ball a little in front up above your serving shoulder. I practice my approach daily just walking around my house. Left..right left. It really helps you get it down pat. Hope this helps!

  2. you sound a lot like me i'm entering high school & i also play volleyball but at my school i was able to start in 8th grade.first off u really need to want to be able to play the game & not play around b/c it does take a lot of hard work.when i tried out last year i focused a lot on my passing.i wasnt able to do an overhand serve at all but that was b/c i didnt have the strength so if you cant dont sweat it work on your underhand serve.close to the end of the season you should be able to do an overhand serve if you practice on your own or have your coach help you.thats how it was with me & trust me its gonna be frustrating i know.your 1st year is always the hardest.

there's only so much i can tell you on the internet but here are some more tips:

-listen to your coach when he/she try to tell you something

-if there is something you dont understand ask a person on the team or your coach

-buy a volleyball & practice at home[i dont recommend a real expensive one that cost about $50 get one from walmart for like $10]

-dont take shortcuts bad habits are really hard to break

    -**have fun**

volleyball can be frustrating but dont give up trust me.i wouldnt give it up for the world.& going in to high school you will already have friends that can help you out.thats what makes going to high school this year less of a worry to me.

i wish i could talk to you more i would love to help you out with any more questions you have about volleyball.you should IM me i'd love to talk.

  3. Its REALLY fun.

but all you have to do is

    practice. Its not hard to

    learn at all.

i say you should go 4 it.

    and have fun with it.

just make sure you listen to your

coach and you should get it in no

    time.

    GOOD LUCK

    =)

         &

    HAVE FUN

    WITH IT.

  4. remember to have fun

passing : don't swing stay low and be on you toes never stand straight and no heals on the ground

setting: don't lift use all 10 fingers

hitting take an approach snap your wrist

serving: don't snap your wrist hit hard

  5. For volleyball, the ability to jump is vital.  You should work on jumping up onto a box that is a few feet off of the ground then stepping off of it. Repeat this at least a hundred times a day and your vertical leap will greatly improve.  Balance is also incredibly important. Try standing on one leg, then bend down and with the opposite arm touch the ground a few inches right of your foot, then a few inches in front, then a few inches to the left. Switch feet and repeat 3-5 times.  Also, something that many people don't realize about volleyball is that if you are a natural athlete and can see the plays developing in advance, you can be a very good player with little to no work. Good luck, I hope your season goes well!
