Upbeat about the on-going Faysal Bank T20 Tournament 2012-13 at Lahore, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rana-Naved-ul-Hasan-c83909, the out of favour international all-rounder, is expecting big crowds in the event and feels that the people of Pakistan love the shortest format of the game.
The illustrious competition started from December 1, 2012, in the capital of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 after Karachi. 14 regional teams from all around the country are taking part in event and have been divided into two pools, with each side getting six games to prove their mettle against Pakistan’s best.
Almost all the current international players are taking part in the Faysal Bank T20, encouraging the fans to come to different grounds of Lahore and watch their favourite players in action.
Initially the tournament was scheduled to be played at Karachi but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to shift the venue at the last moment, due to poor law and order situation in the Sindh capital.
While speaking exclusively to Pakpassion, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sialkot-c842 Stallions’ player hopes that the people of Lahore will come and cheer all the teams.
“I am expecting a lot of interest as this is a major tournament in Lahore and it's a popular format in Pakistan. People are generally quite excited about this tournament in Pakistan – I am hoping that people will attend these games and cheer their favourite teams as well as appreciate the effort by all teams,” said the discarded Pakistan fast bowler.
The matches are being played at the Gaddafi Stadium, LCCA ground and Bagh-e-Jinnah, where the players enjoy proper facilities. Talking about his team’s chances in the tournament, the experienced cricketer is optimistic that the Stallions will be able to defend their title.
“All three are excellent venues and I am sure that the PCB have chosen these after careful consideration. As far as my team Sialkot Stallions is concerned, we will put in our best efforts regardless of where we play,” the Sheikhupura-born cricketer added.
The winner of the competition will take part in the next year’s Champions League T20.
